Waves

Work is frustrating; not in a bad way, or maybe, yes, in a bad way, but…

It’s odd, but there’s a lot more corporate paperwork in this job than their is at my old job.  Which is weird, because my old job was at a $200M corporation, but there you go.

I’ll get used to the idea as we go, of course.

Spent today’s exercise session away from the pool and in the ocean – I smell of salt water, and I’m wonderfully exhausted.  I need to price surfboards now… it looks like fun and the waves on the beach were perfect for surfing.

Which just reminds me again, of how much more awesome it would be if I could share some of these great experiences with my friends.  And how I don’t have many yet here.

That may change a bit – Ben, my roommate, has a friend called Israel, and he mentioned that he, Ben, and a couple other mates were interested in learning how to play D&D.

Already have a great campaign idea.

Other than that, I’ve got some little problems.  See, I finally got my final checks from CA|NetQoS, and all told, it’s about $5000NZD.  Perfect.  But in order to cash those checks, I need a bank account.  In order to get a bank account, I need something that proves I live here – like a phone bill.  In order to get a phone bill I need to order something like mobile phone service.  In order to order mobile phone service, I need a bank account.

I’m just going to have my landlord write me a note saying I live here.  If that doesn’t work, I’ll invite the bank manager over for tea.
